In order to strengthen new product R&D, improve R&D
efficiency, and longitudinally deepen R&D, Liaoning Fuwa Heavy Industry
Machinery Co., Ltd. Academy (Fuwa Academy for short) was established at the end
of 2003 after the company was turned into a private-owned enterprise. To
reinforcing the internal technical strength of the enterprise and makeuse of the
regional and human resource advantage, the company has established Fuwa Academy-
Dalian Design Branch. Currently, Fuwa Academy (including Dalian Design Branch)
consists of nearly 300 technicians, and most of them are doctors, masters or
senior engineers. Fuwa Academy includes “6 institutes and 2 offices”. With first
class modern office equipments and garden style office environment, the Academy
becomes the most professional R&D base for hydraulic track crane of full models,
which is also the largest in scope in domestic industry. Fuwa Academy is named
as Provincial Technical Center, Construction Technical R&D Center, Innovation
Model Enterprise and Private Post-doctorate Research Base by Liaoning Province.

In 1950s, Fuwa has successfully developed the first set of W1001 mechanical
excavator, and made lots of achievements in the machinery manufacturing fields,
filling multiple gaps in the country. In 1970s, the mechanical excavator with
max. bucket capacity of 12M3 was developed. In 1984, Fuwa became the first to
begin manufacturing hydraulic crawler cranes in China. The company introduced
advanced technologies from abroad and manufactured the first 50 ton hydraulic
crawler crane of China. With over 20 years of development, Fuwa has become a
professional manufacturer of hydraulic crawler cranes.
The brilliant history lays a solid foundation for Fuwa’s development, and
creates favorable opportunities for the innovative growth of today’s Fuwa
scientific research team. At present, the dominant QUY hydraulic crawler crane
products of Fuwa has gained certain popularity in domestic and overseas markets.
With the enterprise’s development, the product research and development has
extends to truck cranes, various kinds of pilling machine, and other special
machinery. And the company has got many items of independent intellectual
property rights.

Fuwa academy always holds the concept of “pursuing advanced
product technologies, and create high value for customers” and innovative R&D
thoughts. With unremitting efforts, the R&D process of new products gets
constantly improved, and this contributes greatly for the long term development
for the enterprise. Recently, Fuwa has gained another 3 items of patents on
hydraulic crawler crane. With the constant improvement in independent research
and development capability, the programming of electric control system software
of hydraulic crawler crane has gained new progress, and changed the condition
that the electric control system software system relies on overseas supply.
Meanwhile we also add to the system new functions such as troubleshooting, port
monitoring, safety protection and sensor calibration function, and upgraded the
software for the control device under independently research and development,
utilizing the micro electronic control, monitoring and 3G technology on the
medium and large ton level crawler crane products. The newly equipped electric
control lab makes simulation experiment through electric control, which make the
experiment process more efficient and timesaving, thus improving the stability
of the product function.

Pursuing of high quality” is one of our development concepts. The design staff
in the Academy hold the tenet of “innovation for development, technology for
survive”, and adopt 3 dimensional intensity accounting, dynamics simulation
analysis system, and module design hydraulic system, making full use of our key
technical advantages, and improves the product design towards international high
level.
In 2008, the QUY250, QUY150C, QUY90, QUY70, and QUY50D made by Fuwa have passed
the CE certification. And the second batch of hydraulic crawler crane will also
pass the CE certification and North America cTUVus certification soon, which
means that the design standards of Fuwa hydraulic crawler crane products meet
Euro requirements, which paves the way for international marketing.
